Integrating the HR and Payroll functions will be a prominent issue at this year’s Softworld Human Resources and Payroll, taking place from 7 – 8 February 2001 at Excel, London. The event, one of the major HR exhibition events each year is becoming increasingly significant as the world of HR relies more and more on new technologies.
A dedicated masterclass session entitled: “Integrating HR & Payroll: let the battle commence!” led by PricewaterhouseCoopers, will address some of the advantages and disadvantages of departmental integration, including: data ownership, internal relationships and rivalry, shared and individual processes and the wider community.
Following on this theme, the show floor will play host to a number of new launches and visitors will be able to see the latest integrated packages as they are showcased at the event:
Computers In Personnel Limited will be showing windows based HR software products covering personnel, recruitment and training administration, absence management, skills matching, payroll integration, people development, and delivery via an Intranet. Compel HR Decisions provides powerful data analysis tools. All systems work dynamically with one another, and are available as stand alone modules.
Cyberaid will be launching its TeamTrak Adaptiv range – an enterprise Payroll/HR solution for the new Millennium. A completely rules-based product for flexibility, it is available in two ranges – either as a complete ready-made HR solution or with the addition of the customising toolset, enabling users to build the system to match their environment precisely. Cyberaid are also offering visitors to its stand free entry for their draw for a luxury weekend away for two.
Frontier Software plc providers of the CHRIS integrated Payroll and HR package will be showing range of outsourcing services from a fully managed service to a “traditional” bureau service that it is now providing. ASP is also available. Frontier believes that their services provide greater control, flexibility and accessibility to current and historic data.
Grampian Software, exhibiting for the first time at Softworld, see it as an opportunity to show its fully integrated Payroll and HR package, OpenPay – used by over 200 sites in the UK. Visitors to the stand will have the opportunity to view the recently released Personnel and Absence modules.
Selima Software Ltd will be launching a new product called Vision. Vision is the web extension payroll and HR solution. The product takes a different approach, to different principles – push technology not pull. The difference is that the Intra/Extra/Internet service for large corporates will actually be used rather than being an expensive trend. In its first installation, the savings are seen to be more than the cost of the entire payroll / HR installation.
Topaz will be showing Topaz EMS (Employee Management System) – A fully integrated and highly flexible payroll and personnel system with a modern and intuitive look and feel. The solution is functionally rich covering all areas of employee management including P11D production, vehicle management, personnel events diary and document management as well as offering an optional integrated Time and Attendance module. EMS also allows multi level security as well as being both platform and database independent.
The event comprises an exhibition, seminars and educational masterclasses examining some of the key issues and trends affecting the HR and payroll functions. There will also be a number of new products and services on show from exhibitors such as erecruitment.com, Mitrefinch, Notesflow, Peopleclick and Personic.
