Online job search outstrips other methods

pp_default1

Job seekers that search online fair better when it comes to finding jobs, according to recruitment giant Monster.

The claim was made following a recent poll by Enhance Media, which discovered internet job searches have increased by 50% since 2006.

According to the recruitment experts, online recruitment sites offer added benefits to those seeking a new job.

ClickAJob chief executive Yngve Traberg went further and said that online job searches are far superior – unless targeting a particular job with a particular company.

“It’s about time and choice. You can’t physically search thousands of jobs in the newspaper every day, that’s just not practical. But a good job search engine can do it in seconds,” he remarked. “Short-listing your choices is no longer a headache either.”

Traberg added that online searches have the added benefit of producing “the kind of jobs you want”, with none of what he called “chaff”.

“And just look at the message it sends to the employer. Without saying a word or any effort on your part, you’re actually showing that you’re communication savvy and in tune with the practices of modern business. Try and get that out of your morning newspaper,” he said.
