Learning DNA

pp_default1

Epic Consulting is using the HRD show to introduce its new ’Learning DNA’ methodology which is designed to facilitate the delivery of a modern learning strategy. ’Learning DNA’ captures and focuses the breadth of experience of our consulting team and responds to how today’s Learning & Development functions have ever greater demands on them being able to demonstrate the value they add whilst also building the learning culture for their organisation.

Steve Barden, Epic’s Head of Consulting said, ‘ Our new approach is really a fulfillment of the wide range of experience and expertise our consultants have accumulated in their work with many organisations in the public and private sector. We are excited by the response our Learning DNA model has gained in initial conversations with colleagues and clients as they recognise learning culture is a combination of attitudes and actions that can be positively structured in the logic of the DNA model’
’Learning DNA’ is built upon the premise that the culture of an organisation is its DNA and that is built from the DNA of its people. Our intent is to strengthen your collective ’Learning DNA’ through a sequence of six strategic workstreams. Each stream has a series of key activities:

Strategy: define the vision, the targets, the level of business and stakeholder alignment, the scope, the success criteria and appropriate measurement metrics. Consider the marketing, the change management, and how to select and work with suppliers – all with proper risk assessment and mitigation plans.

Audit: a 3-level, objective view of learning effectiveness and culture through people, content and processes;

Blend: develop solutions capability – project management, TNA, design, development and delivery of the solution, formal and informal techniques, using range of media;

Implement: engage stakeholders, champions and focus groups, integrate systems, train, market and manage the change process, ensure support and maintenance are operational;

Evaluate: for the purpose of establishing the level of business value that has been achieved;

Improve: ensure the outputs from each of the workstreams are reviewed and meeting the strategy. Identify areas and priorities for improvement. Plan and cost new work.
