Lesbian and Gay people should receive the same protection against discrimination as provided for women and ethnic minorities demands a new petition campaign to be launched at the TUC’s Lesbian and Gay conference on Thursday 5 July.
Delegates will sign the TUC petition demanding that the Government extend the terms of the new European Anti-Discrimination Directive that will limit protection on the grounds of sexuality to the workplace.
Baroness Sally Morgan, Minister for Women and who leads for the Government on equality issues, will address the conference at 11.15am on Thursday. And TUC General Secretary, John Monks, will speak at 9.30am on Friday.
The conference takes place at TUC, Congress House, London WC1 on Thursday 5 July 11am – 6pm and Friday 6 July 9.30am – 5.30pm.
