What action is there to take if a company continually refuses to give staff holiday.
Each staff member is given 269hrs leave over the holiday year. I have submitted 5 holiday request forms for the entire 269hrs, but have been told on all 5 occassions that 135.5hrs of it is already taken by other staff. Further, I have now been told that there is no holiday available until December and any available holiday left is in odd days, not complete weeks. HR have informed me today, that it looks likely that despite my requests, I’ll have to forgo the remaining 135.5hrs holiday with pay or carry-over.
There are 40 staff in our setion and this has happened to nearly 20 of them, surely this is not correct?
What can be done about this?
