Would you say, as fellow HR professionals, that your firm and hiring policy would hesitate to hire middle to senior level executives from the tobacco industry?
Is it seen as a conflict with your firm’s corporate values to hire (competent) managers from these industries?
I ask because I am currently completing an MBA at a top UK business school and among other offers, have one for a Strategy position at a FTSE 100 tobacco firm. I am not willing to lock myself into an industry for the long-term, no less tobacco, and am concerned should I want to move on in 3-5 years, that I will face constraints.
Thanks in advanc for candid comments.
