A colleague job swapped with a colleague from another branch of the company over a year ago, relocating to another part of the country. At a recent meeting she was told that her position was being advertised in the newspaper on Friday. The office is moving premises next month and they want a supervisor, rather than a receptionist in post. She was told that she was more than welcome to apply for the post; if she were not successful they would try to find another position for her or the last resort would be redundancy. What is the legal position regarding the companies intentions?
