An employee verbally tendered resignation for 30 Apr 07, The employee was asked to continue to work until 18 May 07, the individual verbally agreed. The contract states one months notice. The employee texted in sick yesterday morning and also this morning – I suspect the employee may be working for the new employer. Can we ask the employee to leave immediately, are we obliged to pay company sick pay. The employee has only been employed since 1 Oct 06.
