We have an employee who is at present on a final written warning. He has been late twice this week. His excuse was that his clock didn’t go off. Our policy in the handbook states that more than 1 occasion of lateness in a week can lead to diciplinary action. We want to be conistant and fair throughout the site regarding disciplinary action, although we don’t really want to sack him. Also our employees sign a receipt to say that they have received an employee handbook. There is no signed receipt on his personal file. Where do we stand?
