We currently use an exit interview for all staff who leave. However our CEO would like all exit interviews to be passed to him (and not kept on personnel files). My understanding is that the forms should be shared with the line manager and feed upward if appropriate – ie, if there are any suggestions for the future of the role. Does anyone have any best practice guidelines? It seems a waste of time to do the interview if they do not result in any learning.
Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you
Lesley Kerr.
