Can someone who has been employed for 13 years be laid of on an hours notice along with 9 others. The firm has stated that they will contact him again in a month – it appears that they temp lay people of to avoid redundancy.. Can they do this legally?
They hold a monopoly in the geographical area via contracting which makes finding alternative employment even more difficult
Any advice would be greatfully recvd. They gave their ‘staff’ 1 hours notice
