H&S regulations are that employeers need to provide Proctive Personnel Equipment. My employer already provides standard H & S glasses however for employees already wearing prescription glasses we would need to provide another type of Safety glasses. My employer would like those employees to use their Health Cash Plan (benefit provided by the company) to pay for those Safety prescription glasses. Note that in some cases the Cash Plan would not cover the full amount of the glasses.
1- Are we able to make such a request to our employees knowing that the Health Cash Plan has been offered as a benefit?
2- If it is to the employer’s discretion, what would be the best way to get employees’ agreement?
