OCD is a hugely misunderstood mental illness, and the millions of people who are living with this terrifying, debilitating condition are also having to deal with a lot of stigma. More action needs to be taken to combat this discrimination – including that which exists in a workplace setting.
Employers also have a responsibility to offer reasonable adjustments and support to affected individuals, as OCD is classed as a disability in the Equality Act 2010.
