Hello everyone.

I am an experienced sales and people manager with a really keen interest in HR. My interest in HR has stemmed from having People Management responsibility for the last 10 years and following Management process e.g Training, Recruitment, Grievance, Performance Management etc.

I would love to start a career in HR and start to study towards CIPD qualifications, however I have been told by employer to concentrate and my Sales Team Management responsibilites so I need to study in my own time and the night school costs are really expensive.

Could anyone please suggest, how I would make the transition from my current role/experience into an HR function without dropping into an entry level position which would probably half my salary as I have a family to support and couldn't afford to take such a salary drop.

I am fully aware that I need to re-write my CV to highlight any relevant experience/projects that I have worked on ( I am currently working on an new entrant onboarding project with the companies HR business partner in my own time ), but I have never worked in a direct Human Resources job role.

I appreciate that this sounds like I want to just keep the same salary for a new job in a role I have no experience in, but I really have no idea where to start and would hope that someone could provide me with some advice.

Thank you very much for taking the time to read this, I really do appreciate it.

Daniel.
