I am reviewing some HR policies for an SME. They have a reward system for attendance where staff are given vouchers for achieving a certain level of attendance over each 12 months. I have advised them to change this as its open to claims of discrimination ( disability/ sex – matenrity- etc) however, on doing an internet search have noted BA and Royal Mail previously have run such schemes. Are these lawful?
If this scheme has been in place for a number of years can they just remove it?
