I work for a college, I left December 31st.
I calculated my holiday pay and made it £350 more than I received.
I work 37 hours from Monday to Friday, in our conditions of service handbook, but not on the contract, it states for academic staff working hours are from 8.30am to 9.30 pm Monday to Sunday.
My contract states evening work and occasional weekend work will be necessary, in which case you will be given time off in lieu during your normal working week. I was told on appointment that my normal working week was Monday to Thursday 8.45am to 5.15pm and 8.45am to 4.45 Fridays. I worked these hours for 3.5 years, with additional evening work, I have worked two Saturdays in that time.
To my calculations, the college have paid me 37 hours from Monday to Sunday,
5.3 hours per day.
Are they saying that as I work 37 hours from Monday to Friday, I can have Saturday and Sunday as time off in lieu?
Is this correct?
