Hi recently , my company has decided to hire some new people.  As per policy with my company the job was advertised internally and externally. 

This was fine , as most people in the dept currently have the job description advertised no one really took any notice.

Externally though the company has advertised it as a senior position with more money and benefits.

Is this legal, it sounds like descrimination as the company has changed the job description so internal staff have no reason to apply.
