Hi,my name is Gourab Mahapatra, from India. I am living in Mumbai and working for a HR management consulting firm.

Basically, I am a B.Tech(I.T) graduate who got a job for software product development for the same company. But, due to the unavailability of the required resources and me being a fresh graduate didn't cope up to the standards of the company. So, I was offered an important role as a Business Analyst, which I have accepted. It's been around a year I have been working with the company and specifically speaking 8 months as a Business Analyst. Now, the kind of work I am doing here is – this company was a startup company, formed 3 years back (don't whether still is a startup or not) and I am working on digital marketing/email marketing, data analysis like (got some data and analyse the data according to the relevance of the subject), do research (both primary and secondary research), vendor management, client relationship management and some other stuffs. Problem is that, firstly – there are very few employees in the company to work with, secondly – as I have studied on Computers and IT (I feel like some kind of a dumb life), thirdly – I am not sure whether to work as a business analyst or to quit the job and search for a decent job in the IT industry? forthly – I am confused on what is the growth as a Business Analyst that I would get if I continue this job and work in this field of business analysis (basically, how is the job market for business analyst jobs), fifthly – I want to go to a foreign country and work there for a few years (since, IT can provide me that opportunity, will Business Analysis can give me this opportunity as well?), fifthly – I have plans for doing my MBA degree (will this role or similar roles help me or be an advantage to me at that stage?).

Can anybody please show me the right path to the problems I am facing and the reason as well?

Waiting for the replies and thanks in advance.
