We have a company of 50 people (so not that big). One of the girls in the admin department has a problem with her manager and has tried to address this several times. The manager is very quick to criticise her whenever she does something wrong and if the manager does something wrong she denies it. Anyway I have come to the conclusion that she is very insecure about her self and this could be the reason why she puts a lot of people down.
The girl is very keen to become part of my department which consists of me dealing with all HR issues. Her appraisal is due and I know she wants to mention that she would like to have more experience in HR. However, I believe that this would cause a great divide within our company and may cause hostility if I were to ‘steal’ someone elses employee. The office manager would not be able to handle this. Although I am looking to get an extra pair of hands to help me out and she would be fantastic at the job.
I am a bit stuck really.
Any comments or suggestions would be great.
