We have our own aviation department running B-737 NG, G4, -8 and other types of aircrafts. The Pilots progress is based on number of hours flown more than anything else. We are facing a dilemma in that they are moving through the career ladder very fast and become Sr Captains (commanding the b-737) while still at the bottom of the applicable salary grade.

I am working to put together some sort of a progression table to ensure consistent and fair treatment of all. Identifying criteria and setting up a matrix is proving to be more than I expected.
