DDA and time off for treatment

We have a young lady who has just started with us and has now told us that she needs a day off per fortnight for treatment of a lifetime condition.
Are we legally obliged to pay her for this time off ? Do we put it down as sick time off?
Just slightly concerned whether the DDA impacts
