A 61 yr old staff has asked to work on part time basis recently due to his failing health/disability. I understand that as an employer I have to accept this request assuming his Doctor’s report suggests that the existing condition has worsened by stress of the job working full time.
Can anyone advice me what sort of evidence or qns i should ask at this stage so that i proceed correctly? Should I also insist on my own doctor’s examination?

Assuming evidence points to reduction in hours what is my remedy if the part time hours proposed are too short AND there is a specific request to reduce the overall responsibility from my staff to reduce stress levels. As an employer do I have to accept this and employ another person part time as well?

Plse help as I am very confused.
