I’m experiencing difficulty obtaining statistics on the sales profession.

The areas I would like information on are;


  1. A rough percentage of sales managers with no professional sales qualifications
  2. The percentage of sales managers with professional qualifications (including HNC/D/degrees) not in the sales or marketing area e.g. engineers.
  3. The number of (Sales) account Managers compared to pure Sales Managers.
  4. Anything else on sales people generally…

This seems to be a little researched topic compared to Personnel, Accounting people etc.!

Any help with stats or sources would be much appreciated.
