I am looking for any advice on successful or proven mediation processes. I am thinking it will be more beneficial to both parties if their direct manager is absent from the mediation session as it will encourage them to speak more freely and openly.

Another problem I am facing because of this tension is the affect it is having on their team. The team is only small and this conflict is forcing the non-involved members to become part.

The two employee's are int he sales team which is responsible for generating a lot of our business – obvioulsy this is a very competitive department and I believe this is adding to the divide. Any tips on uniting them as a collective business unit?
