Hi,

Two of my employees were physically fighting last night. Both, naturally, have said the other started it, and that they fought back (in self defence) – so have admitted to hitting ot kicking the other.

Should any employees fighting automatically be dismissed? My boss wants them to stay and get a final warning, but I am worried that this will set a precidence (sp?)

I have several witnesses – but none of the stories match.

Also, they have not been suspended pending investigation – is this bad?

Any advice would be appreciated as I’ve not had much experience of disciplinaries.
