We have a new starter that is approaching the end of their 3 months probation period.

Despite being given training / coaching etc. there are still a number of performance issues (these have been brought to their attention informally).

I would like to give this person a chance by extending their probation period for another month, in order to give them more time to bring their performance up to speed.

I presume that I just need to arrange a meeting, document, provide a letter confirming what we are doing etc.
