We have a male employee who has approached us about how he would stand if he were to change his hours. His scenario is that his partner works part time and looks after there child when she finishes school. Her company has been taken over and they may require her to work additional hours as she is a Manager. He has asked in order to be able to pick his child up and care for her after school could he work a 7 hour day by coming in earlier and finish at 2:30 rather than a contracted 8 hours a day. His contracted week is a 39 hours so overall the company would lose him for 4 hours a week. However at present he is a senior Manager and most days works 9 – 10 hours and often comes in on Saturdays.
Any advice would be greatfully received
