My other half contracted a chest infection before Christmas. He received sick notes for two weeks, taking him to early January. He asked the doctor to end the sick note a couple of days early as he was due to go on holiday then and could foresee problems at work if he flew when on sick leave.

The doctor refused, my partner went on holiday for just over a week, and now faces problems on his return to work.

As far as his medical condition is concerned he was not 100% when he flew and did not join in usual activities for a day or two but it is doubtful if he would have been able to claim on his insurance for cancelling the holiday for this condition.

I would be interested in your views or any legal references that could assist him in this case.
