We have a strict policy that holidays should be taken within the holiday year and they are lost if people fail to take them. We have a pregnant employee who is off sick with a pregnancy related condition. She had booked holiday but now her sickness has over-ridden this.

Are we OK to say that the hoidays are lost as this is policy or should we allow her to carry them over rather than risk an allegation of sex discrimination?
