We are an organisation that has grown quite organically.  It started with one staff member in 2002 and we now have eight currently employed and one vacant post.  Our HR is loose with the function technically managed by the office manager.

With the recruitment of 5 members of staff in the last 18 months, the office manager’s responsibilities for HR have been casually disregarded and when they have offered advice (particularly on equal opps recruitment and Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act) it has, on a number occassions been treated as irritating interference.

A couple of weeks ago, two board members called a staff meeting to update us on the status of our CEO’s health and in it they informed us that we would be having a HR review.  The review startedthe following day.  I asked the office manager whether they had recieved advanced notice and they said no.  Is this legal?
