I am currently re-drafting my Company’s employment handbook, within which we state we do not allow staff to reclaim any holiday should they become ill during this time and would not have been ordinarily available for work, had they been fully fit?
It seems a little unfair to me that if staff contract a certifiable illness or injury which isn’t due to something stupid lke hangliding whilst on holiday!
that they can’t reclaim the leave to enjoy when they are fully fit.
I wondered what other employer’s policies are on this?
