The I&C legislation will be law effective April 2005. I am very curious as to how many HR practitioners are aware of this significant piece of legislation?

Do any of you work with companies that have taken active steps to be compliant? Could you tell me about your activities? Have unions been involved?

Many organistions are setting up “works councils” in response. I hear anecdotally that in many organisations they find it hard to recruit works council members from their employee base. Is this a common experience?

Finally, are any companies out there looking to respond to I&C by creating ways of directly communicating with employees rather than via representatives?

I’d be very interested in swapping information with HR Zone members that have an interest in this area.
