Our current mandatory induction programme is stuck in the “chalk and talk” ages. Although the information is mandatory and/or relevant to new starters in our organisation, it is presented in an uninspiring and sometimes apologetic way. It lasts a day and a half and caters for new staff from all departments. Currently it’s just something you “have to sit through” and there is no way of evaluating what participants have taken in. I would like some positive ideas and examples of best practice I can put forward to a working group I’m setting up to address this. Can anyone direct me to an appealing, robust and welcoming programme that makes people glad they’ve joined the organisation as well as successfully informs them?
Thanks for your help!
