My brother has been told that his main place of work is being moved 20 miles away – towards the city – and they will be given 12p per mile for the first 6 months of the move only as compensation.

The company were taken over 2 years ago and no new contracts were issued (although they were promised at the time). Apart from the change of owner everything has carried on as normal.

Can the company force them to move and what happens if they don’t want to? Will they have to be made redundant?

I’m sure there is some case law on this but I can’t find it.
