We have an employee who has given the required 8 weeks written notice that she will not be returning after her maternity leave. What will be her date of leaving? The 8 weeks after date of letter (I.e. when she was expected back at work)or earlier?

As our holiday year runs from April to March she has not taken any holiday this year – do we calculate accrual do date of leaving (as normal leaver) and pay it as final pay or does she lose it? I think we should calculate as if she had been here and pay it but just wanted to check with others as this is the first one not to return.
