If we dismissed an employee, who had served 6 years, I have been told he is entitled to statutory notice, ie 1 week for each complete year served, so in fact we dismiss and have to pay 6 weeks pay? Is this right? or should he just get his contract notice ie, weekly paid have 1 week and monthly paid have 1 month. Thanks in anticipation.
