Recenly a complaint has been made against me by staff I employ in my capacity as a Manager with a national company. An investigation is pending, but I have been unable to attend due to sickness (Tonsillitus and a sick note provided by the Doctor). Due to certain changes in my place of work made in my absence by my employer and by the fact that I believe that the investigation process he is following is flawed, i.e he is using a statement by 1 employee that the employee verbally retracted, I no longer feel that I wish to contiunue my employment with the company. Therefore I wish to tender 3 months notice to the company even though I have been informed by my employer that I will be suspended from work after my sick period ends. My contract states that I only have to tender 1 months notice. My question is: Do the company have to accept my 3 months notice bearing in mind that I am still off sick and have not yet been suspended or interviewed? Please note my length of service is 14.5 years and I have had no disciplinary action against me during this time.
