Hi,
I’m on a roll now with asking lots of questions after everyone was so helpful the last time.
We’ve got an internal role advertised at the moment that is at a current grade however it will be reevaluated early next week, and there is a strong possibility that the grade will be higher after the evaluation.
I’ve had a question though from one of our staff members who is currently on the next grade up from where this new role is currently evaluated.
If the grade of the new role wasn’t to change for several months, would this staff member be entitled to any pay protection of her current salary, or as it’s a voluntary application, would she need to bear this in mind?
An added issue, is that wef Jan 07, the grading structure will change and this new role and our co workers existing role will fall under the same simplified grade and her salary would fall within that band with some considerable room for increase.
Currently her salary is around £800 above what the max of the lower grade is.
Is there something written down in employment law relating to his or could it be our decision particularly bearing in mind the change in grading structure.
Thanks for any advice.
