I am doing a management report for my CIPD and the report is looking at if the company I work for (wholesale newsagents) should move away from a flat rate pay structure towards performance related pay.

Reasearch into this topic for shopfloor workers has been limited. I would be grateful if anyone has researched this area or knows of any case studies, advantages / disadvantages of which would be of help to me.
