As a Resourcing Manager I regularly pre-screen CV’s prior to invitation to interview.

One recent applicant is adamant he should have been interviewed for a role despite not passing the 75% pass mark at this initial screening stage.

Despite a lengthy telephone conversation & 2 letters providing feedback and explaining why he wasn’t proceeded with, he has now written a 3rd time saying he had the required experience for this role between 1987 – 1990 as explained on his CV.

To add to the complication of possible discrimination he is a member of our company Communication Forum Group.

My questions are:

1)Is this discrimination based on experience gained 16 years previously and from within a different industry?

2)Anyone else had similar experiences &/or suggestions on how to address this?

Your ideas would be appreciated…thanks

Sandra
