We are trying to introduce a process where we use an employee’s preferred name rather than their legal name but I am having difficulty locating information on this.

I need to know when we must use legal name other than for the Inland Revenue?

When I say preferred name, I don’t just mean Bob instead of Robert, I mean when an employee is called something completely different, ie their legal name is Margaret but they preferred to be called Kelly!

Any help would be gratefully appriciated.
