I’ll try to provide information without naming the organisation…

I moved internally from my previous role in Team A to move to Team B in November 2011.

In October 2010, whilst in Team A, I appealed the job level of the role, which was declined, however I was given an acting up allowance to recognise the fact that the role was ‘temporarily’ acting up following a temporary re-structure. Throughout 2011 numerous promises were made that myself and the role would be permanently be upgraded as the re-structure was permanent. However nothing came of it, in spite of good performance ratings and in November 2011, I moved sideway at my ‘substantiative’ level, internally to a new Team.

However, my old role is now 2 months following my departure, being advertised at the higher level. The role description mirrors what I was given and the objectives I was set. I am extremely unhappy about this, firstly because had the role been made the higher level whilst I was in it, I’d have never left in the first place, and secondly I feel very unfairly treated.

Is there any recourse I can take with this?
