Does anyone have a policy on the re-engagement of staff who have been made redundant? If someone accepts a redundancy payment and leaves, do you have a fixed period which must elapse before they can re-apply for a job with you?

Have any of you had any difficulties with the Inland Revenue over paying a tax-free redundancy payment and then re-employing someone, or have you been unfortunate to have been subject to a tribunal for unfair dismissal where a quick re-engagement has perhaps cast doubt on whether there was a need to dismiss in the first place?

Are there any other potential risks?
