An employee’s partner applied and was offered a position as a chef, which was advertised at a local job centre.

He was interviewed by a large hotel chain. They offered him a position but when the contract came through instead of the £15,000 advertised at the Job Centre the contract stated £14,000.

He queried this with both; the company blamed the Job Centre saying it had made a mistake.

The hotel is not willing to change the salary. The easiest thing would be for him not to accept the position.

He is Polish, and feels that this could be the reason why he is not being offered the higher salary.

Does anyone have any advice?
