We have an employee who has been constantly sick this year, we have never received a medical certificate from him. When he has been in he seems to work until lunchtime before he has to go, we are not sure if he is genuinely sick or just doesn’t want to be here. We are due to write to him this morning requesting a medical certificate and a report from his doctor, are we able to do this? Can someone please help us with wording of the letter as we want to get this right. Do we write to our employee or do we write direct to his doctor, we are really not sure. Has anyone done anything like this before?
