If an employee is on long term sick leave and the policy is to at Managers discretion pay company sick pay (100% of salary) for up to 20 days – what is the opinion on whether an employee should be paid beyond this – based on the fact that it is at managers discretion.

The point here is whether the level should be reduced to say 75% or the policy should be adhered to across all employees – consistency or manager’s right to decide (putting the illness to one side)
