I am eager to explore and discuss readers views on how the HR function can be more influential in organisations and affect the decision making at executive and Board level.
I would like to see more HR functions(including HRD and OD) reporting directly to the board-level of organisations thus enhancing their integrity and strategic position, but my question is how do we get this to happen so that HR is viewed differently in the future?
I would like to suggest that we now try to engage in a discussion about how to get directors in organisations on board with this issue. What steps can we take at a macro level to advocate for the repositioning of HR in organisations such that they become the board-level functions they should be?
Are there any examples of where this is working and how it has been achieved? Is anybody speaking on this topic, for example, at upcoming events?
To give you some background as to how I am linking HR/OD and Knowledge Management principles together use the link below to read an accompanying article:

I would like to explore the discussion here for others to contribute and then share findings in the KM community
