Having just returned from the event in Harrogate, I am struck by the content of the notes that I took in seminars like the ‘Future of HR’ and the types of issues that re-occur in forums like this.

On the one hand HR managers are being told that their function is crucial to the future of their companies by being the agents for change and managing that change, yet at the same time HR managers feel that because they still do not have a seat on the board therefore they are prevented from effecting any/many of these changes.

Does anyone have any further views on how HR managers are to reconcile their positions and give a steer on how next year HR professionals will be discussing how they have transformed their position within their organisations?
