My Dad has been on sick from his job for 6 weeks. He has been diagnosed with depression and has also developed a physiological condition which makes many aspects of his job currently impossible. He has been referred to a specialist for this condition and is taking medication for the depression. He received a planned visit from his mgr, and HR rep today, at which they suggested he visit the company’s doctor. My question is, whether or not this seems very soon to be going down this route, as it’s not clear yet if his illness will be long term. Also, what are the actual reasons behind visiting the company’s own doctor? Thanks in advance for any advice.
