They are one of very few teams in England to have remained in the top flight since the Football League began, and 2013-14 has seen the Club earn more points than in any other season over the last 20 years.

It’s therefore no surprise that Everton Football Club takes things very seriously when it comes to recruiting, training and managing talent, both on and off the pitch.

Keen to share her experiences with fellow Human Resources professionals, Everton’s HR manager Clare Archibald will take to the stage at the CIPD’s HR Software Show 2014. Her seminar – Everton Football Clubs journey to becoming an HR dream team– will be held on Thursday 19th June at 12:45pm.

With the help of fellow colleague Rachael Jones, HR Officer at the Club, Clare will elaborate upon Everton’s approach to personnel management before the introduction of Human Resources software. The 30 minute seminar will then illustrate the transition from using restrictive Excel spreadsheets, to embracing the latest technological functionality, supplied by Cascade HR.

Touching upon topics including the software selection and installation process, the roll out of self service, recruitment and auto enrolment compliance to name just a few, the presentation is designed to help those investing in new HR software or considering an upgrade from their current system.

Clare explains: “Finding the best fit HR technology for your business can be a difficult task, so whilst our organisation may be different to many others, the challenges we encountered will no doubt prove very similar. I hope that the advice we pass on at the HRSS will help companies make the right decisions when it comes to their HR evolution.”

Everton’s 300-strong permanent workforce is regularly joined by up to 800 casual employees and volunteers who work together to make the football operation, their registered charity Everton in the Community, Everton Free School and Everton Ladies Football Club a success.

Clare continues: “We are a 24/7 organisation that is becoming increasingly diversified, so we need the smartest possible business processes and management systems in place. When we approached the HR software marketplace we sought a solution that would become the backbone of our HR department, and with Cascade we’ve found just that.

“I look forward to helping my peers increase their departmental proactivity and efficiency, to support wider business growth.  When analysing the value of our software in terms of compliance and accuracy alone, we achieved a return on our investment in less than two years. There’s no reason other HR teams cannot do the same.”

The CIPD’s HR Software Show will take place at Olympia London, on the 18-19 June 2014. Entry to the event is free, and tickets can be pre-registered at www.cipd.co.uk/cande/hrss. Attendees at the Everton Football Club seminar will be provided with an advice-led case study for them to utilise after the show.
